So here are the all done pictures. We are generally quite pleased. It is better than it was, for sure. With my funny little issues, I am very aware of the mistakes and gliches, and sometimes forget to just appreciate how pretty it is!

Bathroom Makeover

Did I already blog about this? I meant to, but in my semi asleep state of mind, really cannot recall. At any rate, we recently worked on our bathroom. Tonight you get the before pictures, and perhaps tomorrow, the after pictures. Don't hold your breath, blue is not a nice color on you.
We always set out with a clear idea...but along the way we have to stop and devote a lot of thinking to the next steps!
We had some good help!
Yuck...a pleasure to improve on this scummy heating grate.
All I have to say is...EWWWWW!!!

A messy cabinet and the yucky old medicine cabinet.
This is where the sink and the toilet will go back in. And...you get a sneak peek at the flooring and the nicely painted heating grate!

Coming soon....a pretty bathroom....

Fun things

Look at my little thief. Over the winter they actually chewed a hole through this lid, and now they are very frequent visitors.
I am so excited...I saved some peonies from a backyard mess...and have been waiting for them to recover from the move. This year...they have buds! I am so happy.

And...my asiatic lilies seem to be surviving the yearly onslaught of the hungry red beetles that have been devastating them each year. I have an organic spray that I have been using, as well as daily murderous search and destroy missions.

mmm...lilac season! I adore lilacs. These are just down the road..I have my own, but these were nice and easy to take a picture And here is the most exciting thing of all. DH had a lovely idea to make a garden at the base of our rock hill. I loved the idea, and adore the result. It is so so very nice. It is going to be my Dahlia garden...and we will see what else.

Cody brought over a couple of the wrestlers, and together with Matt and Cody, they hauled over these rocks and put it together in no time at all. So fun.

TMI Update

So, I think someone recently asked in surprise, if I was still doing the "cloth pad" thing. Well, the answer is, I am! There are several reasons why...

I can play with pretty fabrics and make pads that fit my needs just right. Above is a nice sleek one...perfect for under jeans or slacks.
Above is a nice flannel and fleece one...so soft and perfect for home days.
Below is what I call the "Mega overnight pad." It is not sleek, and I have not actually given it a test run yet, but I am hoping it will solve some little problems I have during the night sometimes.

See, flannel and fleece and pretty cottons! I can do them so quickly, it is a very reasonable sewing project, that I don't have to worry about leaving out and having pieces lost, or forgetting where I am in the project. I sort of have in the back of my mind that if I get good enough...perhaps I can sell them on an Etsy store.
I also have been dabbling in making earrings. A friend at work gave me some goodies, and I supplimented a bit, and have been having lots of fun with earring making.
Happy day to you all!
PS...this is all to satisfy my fabric fever...until I can be a quilter. Do you know that I am terrified I will get arthritis and never be able to quilt?

Stunning Nature

So...on my way to Huntington...just as I headed out of Barre, it was clear that there was a big storm at the top of the hill in Berlin.

It was a bit intimidating as we crested the hill!

So sorry for the quality of images...but look at this cloud...looks like it will just eat up the hospital!

Then, after just about 15 minutes in the mall...we came out to really cool bubbly clouds...and a lovely double, full arc rainbow.

Way back in the morning, when it was cool and breezy and sunny...I took some pretty flower pictures.

PONDERING JOSEPH SMITH

As sisters we joined one Sabbath Day,
To sing, to talk, to learn and pray.
Sweet voices raised in joyful song,
Declare the truth, both loud and strong.
“Joseph Smith, That Prophet and Seer,
Kings Extol and Nations Revere.”

Now faithful sisters testify!
Who was this man who had to die?

A husband
A father
A friend
A seer
A missionary
A mortal man
An example
A brother
A prophet

We shared and testified throughout that hour,
Basking in the Spirit’s power.

Love your Brethren and your Sisters
Give your life, your heart to Father
Serve, preserving one’s dignity
Redeem the dead, join families
In all things act with humility
Decisions make with Deity
Turn to God in times of trial
How glorious are our true friends

We concluded, humble and hushed,
Pondering truths solidified.
Joseph Smith Restored the Gospel!
Share this truth! Live by his example!
